Behind the Scenes: Collaboration with Duffield Lane

Some collaborations just make sense. When we began dreaming up a partnership with Duffield Lane, we shared the same vision - timeless style, heirloom quality, and the kind of family memories that last long after winter ends. Both female-founded and based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Northern Classics and Duffield Lane share midwestern roots and a love for creating pieces that bring families together. We wanted to create something that felt classic, cozy, and full of meaning.

Our design teams gathered around swatches of heirloom cotton, sketches spread across the table, with coffee cups marking the corners. The goal was simple: to bring effortless charm to winter’s most cherished moments. The result was a limited-edition sweater capsule designed for women and children - made to be worn, loved, and passed down. Thoughtfully created for mom-and-me and family matching, the collection celebrates the bond between generations and the joy of sharing style across ages.

Each sweater began as a shared idea: a nod to tradition with a modern spirit. From Duffield Lane’s signature knits to Northern Classics’ winter sensibility, every detail was considered - the textures, the hues, the fit.
